Second Day out with the ramp. This time Tom shows us how it should be done with some impressive jumps and quite a few crashes.

** NEW ** "Duck Gybes". (3Mb WMV).

SWAT performing Duck Gybe turns with a dirtsurfer and kitewing in approx 15 - 18 mph wind. This type of turn requires the rider to be travelling at high speed as the wing is pointing nose forward all the way through the turn. Too slow and the wind flips the wing out of your hands. Get it right and you have a fully powered up downwind turn !

Nothing too extreme, but here's our first session with a skateboarding ramp in 12-14mph south westerly winds. Successes and catastrophic failures! Remeber kids - Kitewings are not for jumping and no one was hurt in the making of this video.

** NEW ** "16 Inch Flexi Freestyle - First Time Out". (9.Mb WMV).

Here is a record of our first day out with SWAT's new 16" flexi. Great board, loads of fun in 20mph wind on the beach. This video shows powerslides, turns and ground jumps demonstrating the flex in the flexi. Listen as Froggy gets splashed at the end !

"Downwind Turning Practice". (5.65Mb WMV).

SWAT in a 25-30mph wind practicing downwind turns. The wind is straight down the beach so not too much room to play with. There's a couple of jumps on the ATB and a spectacularly bad landing towards the end to keep you amused !

Throwing it Around - A windy Sunday in May (5.1MB WMV)

The wind is up, and Froggy gets the mountain board going with the Kitewing. Great fun blasting and sliding. Froggy is improving his skills at Snowboard like slides and hops.

Getting Started - Heelside (1 mb WMV)

This is a very short video of how to get started on a Dirtsurfer with a Kitewing. The video shows how to lift the wing above your head, the position for getting started and how to power up to get moving. The first clip, shows SWAT pushing twice, the others show how you can just step on and go !

Mayday Bank Holiday (19.5 mb WMV)

SWAT, Froggy and Missle playing in a moderate westerly wind at Llangennith. A collection of splashes, slides, turns and a bit of single handed flying. The music, some on board camera work and some things we got wrong, right at the end, make this a great memory of a good, long day in Wales.

Powerslide Outtakes (6.3 mb WMV)

Here are some outtakes filmed during some powerslide practice with a kitewing and a dirtsurfer. Wind conditions were approximately 15mph SSW. Trying to get a dirtsurfer sideways takes a bit of practice - here is why we are still practicing !!

SWAT and Froggy practicing powerslides with a kitewing and a dirtsurfer. Wind conditions were approximately 15mph SSW, sand was fairly soft. Missile makes an appearance with his new red kitewing !

Wind-dirtsurfing (8.4 mb WMV)

Froggy taking advantage of light winds by attaching a 5.5 m windsurfing sail to his dirtsurfer. Wind was less than 10 mph, but plenty to get moving with this setup.

SWAT Speedruns and Turns (9.6 mb WMV)

Perfect conditions, flat sand and 15 - 20 mph wind. 42.3mph with a 5.5m. Froggy hits 41.2 with a 4.8m. As the beech was empty we were free to hook-in and power up.

Froggy Kitewing and ATB (9.5 mb WMV)

Perfect conditions. Froggy with a 4.8m Kitewing playing in a gusty 20mph wind on a beach in South Wales. Good board skills showing direction change and extended powerslides.

SWAT Tight Turns (5.2 mb WMV)

Fairly light winds but a good firm beach. Practiced a few circles, up and down wind turns. Totalled about 20 miles, very busy beach. No speed records today though !

14 - 16 mph August Bank Holiday. Small tides, not a lot of beach was usable except this bit !! This was the last session of a two day trip where we sailed approximately 65 miles.

Froggy ATB and Kitewing. (9.7 mb WMV)

This was shot on a windy June evening on an empty beech. Conditions were so good, we only stopped because it got too dark. Froggy practicing powerslides, not a Dirtsurfer in sight.
